Sifting through the ashes of a Trailer Park burned to the ground during the Rice Canyon fire of San Diego. A piece of the series of fires that concluded as the worst fire(s) in all of California history. The image was taken in Fallbrook, Ca on 11.03.07 at the Live Oak Trailer Park community. Some of the fires were by accident and due to high "Santa Ana" winds, others were caused by careless pyromaniac's wanting Southern California to burn.

This image is of my eight year old brother who wore his favorite outfit; his military uniform and gas–mask while he held in his hands the ashes of the trailer park.

I have never experienced such a horrific devastation until that awful week. It was really sad to see people sift through the ashes of their memories. The only items that were left in-tact were those of statues of angels–––eerie.
