A brave, sweet, little Raccoon. RIP... He knew I was there to help him.

I rescued him from a busy road after he had gotten run over about 6 PM.

It was not meant to be. :-( He died before midnight.

I will see him one day just over the RAINBOW....

He was such a handsome and special little fellow, and you captured him so beautifully in this shot! Far too many animals and birds become victims of busy highways. If we knew the actual numbers we would be very shocked at them, I'm sure..

Such a sad story. We see them alongside the road a lot. I wish there were some way to prevent them from getting run over.

Sweet photo of the little raccoon, so sorry that it did not survive it's injuries. You gave it excellent care before it passed on.

I see a lot of wildlife struck and killed along the highways by vehicles...In fact our car was totaled by a deer last November and it came close to going through the windshield..I saw the head sliding past and it bounced several feet in the air off the hood to land on the other side of the highway...Her fawn was hit by the car behind us... both mother and her fawn died instantly from their injuries...I wish that had not happened... but I thank God that we were spared from getting killed or injured....I am sorry this little raccoon didn't live but you did all that you could to save him...

I do wish people would slow down and pay attention. The outside belongs to the animals and we should look after them. Thank you Gloria for trying to help him. He was not alone and afraid in the road because of you.

I do love looking through your photographs!
I recently came across this concept that some of us have 'Power Animals' who are like spirit guides to us. They are like angels that are grounded to the earth. And if you find your power animal then you can communicate with him/her with an open heart and your 'inner ear' regarding your relationship with nature and animals. This animal might already be with you or around you. You can find him/her by calling out to him/her in your thoughts, vividly imagining it.
I don't know if you believe in this kind of stuff but I thought of you, so I'm sharing it with you :)

    Much love, Niharika
