Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Thy mercy O Lord is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Psalms 36:5

October 11, at 5:45 PM the cloud formations were gigantic! I think there was some rain in those clouds as by the next day we had a big rain storm.

I just heard some awful news tonight..My mother fell and got hurt at the Nursing Home...Please keep her in your prayers... She is in the hospital.

Update: Oct. 13...My mother at noon today had a rod inserted in her femur bone and not her hip which was first surmised to be broken (The femur is the thigh bone in the leg that extends from the hip to the knee) which turned out to be fractured. At her age of 102, surgery would not be advisable and the rod method is a safer alternative. Her vital signs are good and the doctors say she is in remarkable physical health for her age, but confused mentally with her dementia.Thank you for your prayers and hopefully she will recover and heal quickly from her injuries.

More Update: The doctor said everything went okay. The fracture of the femur turned out to be a bad one after all and it was an extended one where he had to go into it a different round about way, but he was able to get it taken care of and he said she should be in lot less pain. Mom was in recovery almost three hours...We plan to see her tomorrow which would be a better time as she is still very groggy yet.

Thank you all for your comments...It poured the next day, Gloria and I had been outside shooting pictures when it started to rain...I ran in the house with my camera and forgot for 5 minutes that my camera case with lenses was still sitting out on the picnic table getting rained on ...Thankfully, I have a padded rain proof camera case and all of the hinges and straps were tightly shut when I ran out to rescue it and nothing got wet inside the case. That had never happened before ever and I was really upset with myself for being so careless...Thank you all for your concerns and your prayers for my mother and will update you on her progress after we get back from seeing her.
