My Dad used to say a headcold was 3 days coming, 3 days here, and 3 days going. Yesterday was the end of phase one. I was standing at the patio door sipping steaming hot coffee and watching the wind and rain blow the leaves around the backyard. Such a frenzy! This tree drew me outside, camera in hand, because it lived in its own light, totally unique to its darker sisters. Even getting soaked to the skin getting this shot, it brought me cheer and calm.

I love how the fall leaves struggle to capture every bit of sun it can. Is it a desperate struggle to stay alive or is it an effort to show off each leaf in all it's glory?

Regenia, I think it's showing off in their (final) glory ... they were all on the ground by next morning.
