decatur, il "walk to end alzheimer's" oct. 15, 2011

there are an estimated 5.4 million people suffering from alzheimer's dementia in the U.S., there are 15 million unpaid caregivers. alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. and of the top 10 the only cause not preventable or curable.

the promise garden is for each walker to place a "forget-me-not" representing their place in alzheimer's

blue- i have alzheimer's dementia

purple- i have lost someone to alzheimer's

yellow- i am a caregiver to someone with alzheimer's

orange- i support the cause and hope for a world without alzheimer's dementia.

we promise to remember, honor, care and fight.

i am fortunate that my family has not been touched by alzheimer's disease. may God bless those who are...

Definitely my favorite shot of the series. Love the softness around the edges. And thank you so much for the narrative explaining the colors and their meaning. Well done, my friend!!

What an awesome garden! Alzheimer's is an awful disease that robs people of their personalities, hopefully they can someday soon find ways to fight it.
