Shot in Oct of 2011. Canon 5D MK II with a Canon 24-70mm 28.f L lens @ 24mm. ISO 400 1/200 sec @ 6.3f Handheld RAW capture. Virtually NO post editing except to crop. No added light, only natural light coming in through the southern facing windows at mid day. Subject held her eyes closed until I was ready for the shot since she was holding her eyes in the small spot of reflected light, coming off a broken piece of glass in the sink, just out of the frame on the left.

Thank you. We hoped to achieve two diametrically opposed concepts in this shot. The apparent glowing health of a expectant mother in opposition to the utter distruction and decay of a home for that child when delivered. Expected joy or untenable misery?
