On our way to Fredericksburg, TX, we drove through a part of Bastrop, TX where they had one of the biggest fires in Texas recently. The photos of a burned out home and trees are shot from passenger side of the van as we drove by. A lot of homes and structures were burned, they were off of the road that we drove by, one subdivision was burned badly, nearly every home burned. At one time we had looked in that subdivision to possibly buy land there and a house later on. We are really glad that we did not buy there!

So much destruction and devastation! It's hard to imagine all of the damage unless you see it in person. So glad you did not buy there!

Glad you did not buy we do not realise how lucky we are over this side of the pond with no big fires

I am glad you didn't buy land there also...Fires are devastating after experiencing it as a small child of 7 years old when our family home burned to the ground in the dead of winter.
