Hand held RAW capture on a Canon 50d equipped with a Canon 24-70mm 2.8f L lens @ 24mm. ISO 2000 1/320 sec @ 10f. Partial metering but I should have set for a wholly manual setting with a lower ISO, slower shutter @ this f stop.

The shuttlecock sculptures at the Nelson-Atkins are fairly well known. The architecture of the museum invokes the idea of a fence across a wide green lawn. The shuttlecocks were conceived to imply that a VERY large scale badminton game had just occurred.

Got me confused. Is this a sculpture?

Yes Joerg, The shuttlecock is part of a sculpture set. On the other side of the museum, ther are three more of these gigantic [ 20 feet tall ] badmintion pieces.
