Omkar invited me to stay at his home during the Krishna temple inauguration.
His description, or any description of this narrow sandy peninsula surrounded by river on one side and the ocean on the other, couldn't do justice to the feeling of being there.
No cars dot it's sandy paths, only recently had the main, and only, road been paved and so a public bus can arrive. Later I took that ride which goes through a reserved forest where the road is a rocky slalom.
However most residents, mostly fishermen, prefer the ferry boat way. a small boat with a 20 year old generator-style diesel engine that goes back and forth the 15 minute ride across 400 meters of the river.
One afternoon we took a boat ride in Omkar's family boat, now rented to a neighbor as his family runs a couple of eateries in the near by rural beach town.
