Make a joyful noise unto the Lord...all the earth: make a loud noise and rejoice, and sing praise...Psalms 98: 4
I have a true story to tell about this music box that I gave to my late mother several years ago for Christmas ...Prior to my giving her this gift we were shopping together at one of the stores that we frequented when my folk's used to visit us ..Mom spotted this music box under the glass case...she loved it dearly and I told her I would buy it for her Christmas present that year.. .It played "Joy to the world." as it revolved around with sprinkles of artificial snow sprinkling throughout the manger scene. Before Mom went into the Nursing Home when she was 101 years old she could not take everything with her so I rescued the Music Box to take home with me.
Mom recently passed away on October 26th at age 102...Two days before her funeral which was scheduled for November 1st, I was getting two picture boards set up for display of family pictures to show at church...I was almost through with this project, when out of the blue, the music box started to play on its own, "Joy To the World." It startled me as I had not turned it on...had not heard it play for a long time and it was clear across the room from me..
Even stranger than this, the next morning when my husband and I were supposed to get up early to meet my sister at the funeral home, (the day before the funeral) and also go to the nursing home where our mother had been residing before she died, to pick out what we wanted of Mom's belongings.. we had forgotten to set the alarm clock...and we were supposed to leave our place at 7:30 AM to get to our destination by 10:00..All of a sudden I heard tapping exactly at 7:30 on the dot that woke me up, but there was no one outside at the door...My husband heard it too but being a logical man he proclaimed it must have been a woodpecker:)...However, it was black as night and foggy outside. We normally don't hear woodpeckers nor any bird activity when it is that dark.. The knocking stopped as soon as I got up..I believe it was Mom from beyond telling us it was time to get up and get going.... We got to our destination a half hour late but it would have been much later if we had not heard the tapping noise. I feel my mother who was always punctual in her active years is still watching over us in spirit.
