This is Ashlyn's, my youngest granddaughter's, beloved "night-night". It once was a sweet pink stuffed lamb's head attached to a small pink blanket. Now the head is threatening to fall off, following repeated stitching with the red thread Ashlyn requests her mommy use. The tattered ear is from Ashlyn putting her finger in it at bedtime and then scratching it and the pillow it rests upon. She informed me she must to that to shut off her brain to where she can sleep.

She says she doesn't care if the head falls off because she doesn't "need" it anymore. Yet she still carries it around everywhere! It looks even worse now.

The lamb's head looks much loved and it is nice that it offered lots of comfort whenever needed. Sweet entry!

Oh I just love this!! My grand daughter had a 'Bidda' Started off as a aercell cot blanket with a ribbon binding, and ended up a six inch square, tattered and grey. She used to rub it while sucking her thumb. When she started school, my son, her daddy, gave it a Vikings funeral, and set it afloat on the University Lake. and no more bidda as she was a big girl now.. This is a special treasure, Deb. Oh so special to look back on for your grand daughter.

Now that is really a proper child's toy, and one that should be guarded and protected forever. It should never be tossed out, but passed down with stories which go with it, to all future generations. We lose too many really interesting and important family items, and future generations are left in the dark with no knowledge of some of the sweetest and nostalgic links to their pasts. I love it, Deborah!!

My 33-year old son still has 'New Bear', who has traveled with him always. These precious memories, no matter how tattered and torn, live forever. A superb theme entry!!
