Ned is depicted wearing the suit of armor in which he was captured after sustaining many gun shot wounds. He is holding his favorite armament a .577 Snider-Enfield rifle which he named 'Betty'. He was accused of rustling horses amongst other 'crimes' including the shooting of 4 police officers. The Kelly gang were declared 'outlaws' and there was a staggering £8000.00 reward on his head. His showdown occurred at the siege of Glenrowan. To many he is a folk hero due to the perceived social injustices that occurred at the time. The rifle and suit were handcrafted by me. The figure is from Action Man, the horse from the 1983 Barbie series. This scene was shot on the bank of my local river park.
