Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13: 2

I am so touched by the sweet surprise we got in our mail box yesterday and I can't thank you enough for your kind expressions of sympathy....You are all so dear to me..I will treasure this forever.

I am going to plant rose bushes this spring in memory of our mother, who passed away October 26th and also to remember my friends from JPG....Mother always loved color and the roses are going to be red.

Here is a beautiful poem that Mom had composed some years ago that I just found today amongst her collection of poetry...

The Sharon Rose
By Helen L. Aspseter

There is a garden in my vale of dreams
My soul is uplifted into blissful scenes.
The flowers' sweet fragrance permeates the air.
Heaven must be near: There is no worry or care.

I feel the exciting effulgence of the rose so rare.
The lily, which Solomon's raiment could not compare,
For its exotic beauty is so gloriously pure.
Then there is the peony, gladiola, the modest violet to allure.

The azalea, zinnia, and the radiant fuchsia,
The lupine, dahlia, and the lovely petunia.
The stately hollyhock, begonia, and gentian
There are much more..too many to mention.

As I strolled in fancy in my garden so fair,
I saw the most lustrous, resplendent rose there
I met this revelation along the flower-strewn way.
Its aesthetic beauty shone as the light of day.

What is this most captivating flower of all?
Its magnetic influence stirs the soul.
Ah! I know. It is the magnificent Rose of Sharon!
Yes, it is more. It is Jesus! God's beloved Son!

The vision before me outshines all else around;
And my raptured soul is heaven-bound.
The splendor surrounds me with a brilliance that glows;
For there is nothing more divine that the Sharon Rose!

Thank you so much Richard Knight for the spotlight!!!

    I hope you find a measure of comfort in knowing how many friends you have who love and care for you. I love your bible verse today from Hebrews. Dave made a sign with this verse which he hand lettered, and it hangs on the wall by our table. The rose bush sounds so beautiful....a brlliant tribute. God Bless, Andrea!!!

    What an interesting way to photograph the card! All of us in Phoenix wanted to let you know that we were thinking about you and wished that you could be with us. The card is a token of our caring and the rose bush will be beautiful, and I too will enjoy seeing it bloom and grow. It's a super tribute to your mom : )

    Thank you all for your kind words...Regenia..I tried several different ways of photographing the card but of of course I had to combine two pictures to get
    this effect..I shot a close up of the card in another picture..The self portrait of me was taken further back and I was holding the card but you couldn't see the signatures very well from that distance .and somehow I worked the bigger version of the card in but it was not easy ...I wanted the card to be the focal point and it does look big from that perspective:)
