grand canyon 2011....for my sister
If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

It is my sister Aida's birthday today, Nov. 17. In 2004, the two of us was here and sharing the experience of this nature made wonder. We had a picture taken with the view of the Grand Canyon behind us. It was a very special trip for her. Her first time to visit the USA. We made sure that it will be a memorable event. I am glad Grand Canyon was one of those memories.
This is Aida's re-count of our photo together that my other sister Lily posted on FB:
"Yes, this was taken in 2004. There's a story behind our trip to the Grand Canyon which almost did not happen. My first trip to the US and my 2 loving sisters, Ate Lily and Ate Baby (aka LG) with their kids brought me to Las Vegas. Ate Baby booked the 2 of us on a light plane for a day tour of THe Grand Canyon. So 7am of the following day, we went to the bus pick up point near the hotel and waited for the bus that will bring us to the airport. But the bus was nowhere in sight. So, fearing that we will miss the flight to Arizona, Ate Baby hailed a taxi and the driver, after asking for directions, brought us to the airport just in the nick of time. We found out that the bus passed at the pick up point and when somebody boarded it and answered yes when my sister's surname was asked for verification, the bus taught that they picked up the right passengers and so off they went. If it were not for Ate Baby's persistence that we should catch the flight and the PR to the taxidriver who exerted effort to find the shortest route to the airport, we might have missed the flight. By the way, we were refunded our taxifare by showing a paper signed by the taxidriver. The Grand Canyon is such a wonderful God's creation. A must see place and blessed are we who had seen it indeed."
