6 months a year Gita works as a sales woman at Palolem beach, Goa, India. She sells jewlary and makes henna tattoos for a living and has done so for 15 years. When asking whether she likes her job she laughs and says that, since she neither can read nor write, there aren't many other things she can do. Before parting she explained how the economic crisis is affecting her and her family. Less people are visiting this year and less people buy her products. She thinks that the recent Mumbai attacks along with the recession plays a big part of this. Interesting hearing how the economy is affecting people on a different level. Gita is not worrying about mortgages or savings but rather about her family and survival.
