...I give myself unto prayer..Psalm 109: 4

The Red Bellied woodpecker
Sat still in a trance.. just to think...
Had never seen her do this before.
Her eyes transfixed ...did not blink...

To eat and come back for more,
Is a goal they fulfill very well...
Today she had time to sit a spell.
Maybe she was saying a prayer
To thank God for His loving care.
Poetry by me, AJP

I was surprised today to see this bird just sit and gaze off into space for a good 5 minutes...and I shot several pictures of her through two window panes and a screen before she flew away...The wild birds have been coming more to our feeder now that the weather has turned cold.

Wow! You really got a great close-up of this one! There must be so much activity at the feeder with your very cold weather. What a great opportunity for some terrific photos!!

This is an outstanding shot, Andrea! My woodpeckers are 50 feet away at the feeding station out back. This is esp. good for 2 panes of glass and a screen!

This is so wonderful, Andrea. She looks like she's lost in thought.

Excellent capture of the bird gazing off for several minutes. I'd love to know what was going through its head : )
