Q: I am really into my wildlife photography but cannot afford a super zoom lens, I have a 300mm and am considering a teleconvertor. Has anybody had a experience with these and would you recommend them?

A: Do you know?

Great capture...It is sad when you see pictures like this it tugs at the heart but what I find sadder is if this young lady is pulling the wool over the eyes and pretending to be homeless...The truth always finds them out in the end. I don't know how she can live with herself if she is being deceitful....I actually feel more sorry for the dogs in that case:)

Didn't you post a picture of her then? She probably makes a fortune lying. How awful.

I saw this on your post a while back. There are so many scams. We witnessed this in San Francisco. We just happen to see the girl give her money to her partner in an alley. Then go back and sit and look sad again. I bet they make a great living at panhandling..If she was so bad off she would not be able to keep a dog and a cat. Is that Starbucks breakfast drink she has next to her? He shoes are name brand Crocks also.

An historical documentary image..regardless of whether her message is true or false...this picture is still an important message to the social consciousness of these times.
Also, if this character in the scene is not telling the whole truth about her circumstances in her advertising - it may well be that she is on the street by necessity rather than greed - given the benefit of the doubt...it is still a statement to the desperate state of the nation financially, that has reduced ordinary people into indentured servants that must by any means beg a living - because the economy has been deliberately destroyed - her deceit is by necessity as contrasted with the monumental criminal conspiracy behind the meltdown of Wall Street, and the continuing effort by the same criminals to suppress Freedom of Speech and repression of dissent through the media - especially, the major domains on the internet.
One of the 'Rights To Life' is not only the freedom of speech, but the pursuit of happiness - and this person if given her choices - would rather have a well paying profession than begging...throughout history when people have been economically reduced to begging, they become skillful in the business to survive and are forced by necessity to engage in dubious means...as opposed to those in the dreadful conspiracy to reduce citizens to poverty as a means of creating a criminal society...an occupying America through establishing a Police State.
These are the conditions that has prompted a determined but peaceful rebellion by the 99% Majority in the streets of America - peaceful, because they are aware that a standby mercenary military and secret police under control of the 1% minority has ordered the use of brutal force against the citizens - in order to provoke civil violence as an excuse for the suspension of human rights and the establishment of a Police State whose loyalty is not to The American People. - So it must be a peaceful War Of Ideas - in which the people of this nation may restore their lost liberties - and not be provoked into hatred for the rank and file soldiers and police officers under the command of the 1% minority - but rather, focus on exposing the hidden regime in command that appointed the Police Chiefs - and that operate their financial terrorism though an international conspiracy in charge of America.
We must look at the reasons for poverty under these circumstances - rather than discriminating against those that copy the methods of deceit used by those that are really criminally responsible for their plight as the financial meltdown continues.
It is the vast conspiracy of deceit at the highest levels of the financial and political sectors that are the real social criminals...and to this hidden regime that has deliberately destroyed the financial institutions of America - the real question to ask is - since the personal loyalty of those in control of the financial and political sectors is not for this nation - then to what nation are the criminals behind the Wall Street Meltdown dedicating their loyalty?
Nice series, Juan....especially the Occupy! Take Back America documentary images.

is a great photo - even in my little town of Oshkosh we have people making twice as much as me - I work 60 to 80 hours a week and they stand on a corner for a few hours and the people who work hard for their money feel bad for them - and give them a dollar or two... by the end of the month they say they make around $2000 tax free....

    we work too hard :0)

Good photo to go with the link to the news article. Most of the comments here I agree with. As for panhandlers, she is not unique or in a minority. Sort of a Dickensonian guild now.

What truly frightens me is SHE VOTES. On the street or in an apartment collecting cash from the taxpayers even though capable of working, is a theft from those that can't do for themselves, but the tax paying workers are supposed to feel sorry and support them all.
