If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

A few days after I left Italy to return to my home in Dallas for the holidays, I had the great pleasure of watching my granddaughters, Sasha (10) and Ashlyn (6) perform in a major production of the Nutcracker put on by the highly acclaimed Chamberlain School of Performing Arts. Sasha and Ashlyn take ballet lessons at that wonderful school. To say the least they were thrilled to have a picture taken with Wendy Whelan (played the Sugar Plum Fairy) and Tyler Angle (played the Cavelier) Both are principle dancers with the New York City Ballet and each have a long list of credits. Sasha was among the cadets in the Nutcracker and Ashlyn one of the little angels performing with the Sugar Plum Fairy. Ashlyn led the line of angels onto the big stage at the Eisemann Center that seats 1500. She loved how before each performance Wendy told her to smile big and that's exactly what she did. She was also most happy that Wendy recognized her out of her angel costume. Sasha loves the fact Tyler is resting a hand on her shoulder. Her passion for ballet continues to grow. She longs to become a member of Chamberlain's senior ballet company. Though she's got the talent, it will take years of hard work and determination. I've no doubt, though, she can achieve what her heart desires.
Andrea, thanks so much for the nomination.
