Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night nor of darkness. I Thessalonians 5:5.
While I was upstairs experimenting with self portraits by lamp light, to use for possible future themes, I saved these two portraits that I shot on Nov. 27th and made them into a diptych.
I truly believe photography has given me a second childhood or maybe I just never grew up:) At any rate I certainly made use of my $4 thrift shop jacket top that I bought a few days ago.

You are certainly getting a lot of mileage out of those thrift shop garments. They look great on you and have made for some outstanding portraits. I think of my mother's Art Deco dresser like yours whenever I see this.

My wife, Linda, asked me to tell you that she loves this! It really is nostalgic. Very nice.

Your vintage theme shots are fantastic, Andrea! I love this one a lot. Playing with the camera and costumes keeps the imagination fed, and your mind young. When we stop playing, we get old. Never, ever stop.

This is a fabulous diptych, Andrea! I love that your clothing emulates that of the dolls. I assumed, until I read your narrative, that your jacket had been passed down to you--it certainly looks like a wonderful treasure!!

I love the lighting in these images, they are so well done. And it brings back memories of when I was a girl playing dress-up.. but getting royally teased by my three older brothers, so I quit that and became a bit of a tomboy. Now.. I thoroughly enjoy trying on outfits at dress shops!

This is SOooooooo beautiful. You do wear the vintage clothes magnificently!!!!!!! I do not think that I ever played dress up, for one thing I had no "dress up " clothes that I could dress up in and since I have only brothers and there were mostly boys in our neighborhood, I just didn't do any dressing up

You are always dressed with style and class Andrea. I think it is essential to see the world in a child like way to be a great photographer. I hope gou never grow up. These are so very beautiful.

I'm convinced to live fully we need to keep the child in us alive and well. That can't happen without letting she/he play:) Vintage style so suits you. Would love to check out your closet and play dress up with you:)))
