In the southern industrial town of Khulna, Bangladesh, things are in a perpetual cycle of decay and renewal. What the caustic air does not reduce to the ground is deconstructed by men and new edifices are put in their place. A confectionery store is taken down to make room for a housing project, and children find a temporary playground in its hollowed shell. Meanwhile, the sea advances steadily to one day claim all that is old and new.
