Fascinating JanElle! Are those breaks in the cloud layer or hilltops being exposed through the cloud layer?

Thanks for your comment, James. This clouded sky had a dark blue cast to it, and these are actual cloud formations on this hilltop horizon.. there are no hills in the background. It was a very unusual sky and I was glad I noticed it as I pulled out of my driveway..
