When I saw these in the garden of the motel we were staying at, in Arrowtown, my first thoughts were of Don and his beautiful blooms back in Tennessee. They are so lucky to grow them down here, where the winters are extremely cold. Perfect conditions for them.
The petals hung with showery drops, but it gave me great pleasure to see them. Very envious of anyone who grows them. Its too hot up north for them, which is sad.

SO BEAUTIFUL!!! My favorite of all the flowers. I can't wait for those to bloom (late April here)! They do require a bit of a cold winter. That's basically what we get.
