...There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed and hid, that shall not be known.
St. Matthew 10: 26

Chippy came out from hiding
It wasn't impulse deciding...
She usually waits til' April,
To store up her fill...
But it was soon made clear...
Plans had changed this year.

Poetry by me AJP

We were surprised to see the Eastern Chipmunk who is supposed to be in hibernation over winter... Undoubtedly mice have been raiding her food source that she had been keeping in storage...and there is nothing that can be hidden that a mouse doesn't find:)

The chipmunk ran off with a lot of seeds in her cheek pouch this past year and I thought she stored enough in reserve to feed an army of chipmunks and mice:)

Those cheeks!!! They are so full : ). This is such an excellent capture, but it is sad that the squirrel had to replenish its food supply when it surely had laid in enough to last the winter!

Thank you for the comment Ann...Yes, little chipmunks have big problems in
survival with other creatures taking their food source..

A very intimate and well-done portrait! (esp. through the window) Our little resident, "Alvin," is still asleep.

Thank you all for your comments...That's okay Ann...I make plenty of mistakes and we wouldn't be human if we didn't...I am always having to go back and correct a typing error...My thoughts run faster than my fingers can type them.
