The African Women’s Cancer Awareness Association was founded by Mrs. Ify Anne Nwabukwu.
I had the pleasure of being invited to photograph their recent event to help make woman more aware of what cancer can do to you, how early it can happen and that it is worse in woman of African decent.
One of the largest things they seemed to be focusing on the night i was there, was that back home in Africa so many people are unaware of what cancer really is and that one needs to be supportive and get proper care to help fight and win the deadly battle.
it is horrible to hear that many people in Africa shun the very idea of talking about cancer, that it is something you must suffer through yourself....
what you do not understand you fear and what you fear can and most likely will kill you.
if you are interested in helping to join the fight to help cure cancer and to eliminate the fear and the "taboo" like attitude please visit the website.
