To dwell together in unity is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down the beard to the 'shirt of his garment. Psalm 133: 2

I shot this quick candid in a section of the kitchen at a Lutefisk Church supper on October 30, 2008...

The only man who was aware that I shot this picture was the fellow sporting the gray mustache who was wearing a tee shirt that said: "Pray for me I'm married to a Norwegian:)" What he was not aware of is that the amateur photographer who shot the picture, yours truly, is half Norwegian. My late father's parents immigrated from Norway to the USA in the early 1900's..

In a big world combined of many nationalities we dwell together and we pray for unity..

Note: I previously used this image for the beard challenge but found a better
choice in the next picture....Thanks anyway for the comments.

A great entry, Andrea! Being a big Garrison Keillor fan, I already knew about the joys of Lutefisk!

This is a terrific shot and entry. It is very unusual to see the men in the kitchen at these church functions.

Thank you for the comments...Lutefisk is something I grew up with and it was a family tradition to have it at Christmas time..It is something you have to acquire a taste for, but I love it. Donna and Regenia that is what prompted me to shoot the picture as I rarely see men washing dishes either... The last two years we have gone to these Lutefisk suppers, this church is now using paper plates as it is probably getting more difficult to find the men helpers willing to wash all of the hundreds of dishes that are used at these suppers. Of course the serving plates still have to be washed plus the pots and kettles, etc.

I had to Google Lutefisk. Don't think I'll be eating any soon, but your photo is terrific!!!!

Having grown up in a Norwegian community I'm very familiar with lutefisk, but have never eaten it because my Dad, who was of Norwegian heritage, hated it! I love pictures of men washing dishes, they're such a rarity..lol. This is a great capture!

I agree with the above about the men in the kitchen : ). This is a great photo and explanation of your traditional Lutefisk dinners.

Gotta love a man with dish pan hands.
