After two hours of watching vultures and warthogs at this watering hole in Hluhluwe Game Reserve in South Africa, a herd of nervous zebra approached to quench their thirst in the blazing sun.
One at a time, they started to drink; each taking turns to watch for danger. To calm their nerves, they decided it would be safer to stand right next to one another as they drank rather than spread out along the bank.
A moment later, their mare (not in this photo) sounded the alarm, and they thundered away from the area.
