Q: What is the best lens for theater photography?

A: Do you know?

The French photographer Remi Ochlik was killed today in Syria, along with the war reporter Marie Colvin. He had just won first prize in the general news category of the World Press Photo competition for 2012. I hadnt met Remi even though he was in Cairo, and Tahrir Square during the revolution that I covered there, although I had been introduced to Chris Hondros standing in Tahrir Square, before he was killed, along with Tim Heatherington, by an RPG covering the Libyan revolution. My tribute image is one from the Egyptian revolution, these young protesters with their faces painted in the colors of the Egyptian flag, I think Remi would approve considering what he has given for his craft, perhaps too much. A very emotional tributes to your colleagues Roy. They were photojournalists and as you yourself know they are made of a different but strong metal! They die doing what they were born to do in life. Let's remember them for the times they got the world to look into what's really happens in places like Egypt, Libya and most recent in Syria. Great photo!

This is poignant tribute. For those of us who are far from the news front, you tell the story in visual ways that words can only leave to the imagination.
