Park Pigeons

Hanging out at the park one day in Amsterdam (where else?) as we know...in Europe it seems as if everyone hates pigeons, in The Netherlands we call them 'flying rats', thing is....i don't understand why people hate so much what they do not understand, we hate junkies too but we don't go around calling them names or trying to kill them do we? (or maybe we do...hmmm)
In Eastern Europe (Prague for example) to protect the statues and so on, nails or spikes are placed on the top of these statues so that when these birds rest on the statue they are killed directly, i find this to be a tad bit inhumane, i mean their excuse is that there are too many of them and they are destroying the statues, but ya know what ? there are too many people in the world too and people just keep multiplying, actually the more people on earth the worse it is for our environment, should we go around killing them off because we think there are too many people around? i don't think so...
Mind is a terrible thing to waste....so we do we do it so freely without any remorse?
I am personally not bothered by pigeons by the way, i am however very bothered by overpopulation and junkies.
