This is a re-post with treatments..... The real story here though, is that we donate several dozen eggs to the local food bank because we have way too many for us and the kids to use them all. We have contributed eggs to a local school breakfast program too. Sadly, there are children who go to school with no breakfast, I have a very good friend/teacher who started a breakfast program for those children. My husband really loved that our chicken hobby, actually feed hungry children! The food bank, another friend who volunteers there, takes the eggs in. She tells me that they only give 6 eggs to each family.....we tried to change that, so that a family would get a whole dozen.... but they wouldn't relent. They could help "more" families by giving them a little less. Still....at least NONE of the eggs go to waste!!!!
A big THANK YOU to Don Garrett for the spotlight!!!!

The eggs seem to have a soft glow with rich color and texture. The story behind the eggs is equally wonderful.

This is great Betty. Didn't know you were a chicken farmer. The City Council here in Nashville just voted to allow up to 6 hens to be kept in back yards; however, some councilmen opted out for their district.

You are an angel. I remember when the kids were small, I would have been very grateful for those six eggs.
