I sat at my Pillai friends' market restaurant as a young girl came in with her grandmother and was served Puri. That's the whole story of this moment although the picture can do very well without words :)

Puri is an unleavened Indian puffed bread made of suji, atta or maida dough then deep fried in ghee or vegetable oil. It is eaten as a morning snack in dhaba (diner) restaurants all over Tamil Nadu and India.
