For almost a thousand years the forum was the heart of ancient Rome. The ruins of this once powerful nerve center hint at the many alterations since the fall of that once great civilization. I had fun trying to give this image the look of an old postcard.

In the Then and Now photo essay.

Forse cercavi: L'atmosfera in effetti è ottocentesca, tradita dalla presenza di numerosi turisti. Vecchie glorie intramontabili. The atmosphere is actually the nineteenth century, betrayed by the presence of many tourists. Old glory everlasting.

You succeeded - not only in making a great postcard :), but also in bringing in so much content into the frame. When I try this in my compositions, it always feels like there's content that gets "washed out." Everything stands out wonderfully and contributes here.
