Totally inspired by Mary Ann Reilly. As I don't know the appropriate photography term for it, I'm calling the technique here, "autologous layering" - that is, the same image is layered onto itself with some variation. I noticed it in her work, and couldn't wait to try it. A link to a sample image of hers is included below.
Original photo is of ceiling decor in a hotel at my cousin's wedding.
