Q: Why did the Arcus cloud cross the road? A: To get to the chicken! (storm chaser humor… ar!!!)
This is the moment that the storm front (squall line) caught up with me. It was traveling at well over 50 mph and as I came up to this road and pulled over to snap a few more, complete pandemonium was breaking out on the roadway (pictured here). I saw several storm chasers skidding their cars across the median… one almost spun out… all in order to reposition themselves. Truly, the most dangerous aspect of storm chasing is dealing with the distracted chasers as they drive their vehicles… not the clouds themselves

Another great one! Whatever made you take up storm chasing? Just curious.

Well, I won't go into that whole "when I was a child…" thing that all storm chasers do, but will tell you that weather really took hold of me when I lived in Oklahoma for two years back in the 80's. When I got my first digital camera I started trying to talk my wife into letting me chase. Two years ago she finally said yes after ten solid years of begging.

It's really a nice shot. It's very odd for us living in Sweden.
