The scripture verse I chose today... jumped out at me and it was the first verse I saw when I opened the Bible...Really fits this picture for tree trimming..

Strengthen the hand

That holds the chainsaw

For trimming the trees...

And confirm the knees

On the ladder to stand..

Yesterday our 89 year old friend, Florence asked my husband to trim her Maple tree...We spent the day with her. She served us a good lunch and then we played a game of Scrabble with her. .For the first time in a long time I am happy to say I won the game. We had a wonderful time with this lady and she was very appreciative for the help. She used to work with my husband in the meat room at the grocery store before he retired...He was the meat cutter and she was the wrapper. Florence kept on working when the former boss sold the grocery store until February of this year when the store was sold again...I asked her how it felt to be retired and she said she is busier than ever and she wondered how she was able to get everything done before, when she was working..

Here Florence is bracing the ladder while my husband is trimming the branches.. Chips were flying all over, but this was one of the shots where they weren't in the way of the picture..and I also had to get far enough away so that the chips didn't fly into my camera lens.... I shot this quick picture of the work in progress. Then we helped with the clean up afterward.
