Mourning Cloak Butterfly on Plum Tree Blossoms
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted...St. Matthew 5: 4
I was delighted this afternoon to see butterflies fluttering on our flowering plum tree...Earlier I saw the Red Admiral and then later a few Mourning Cloak's arrived..
It was interesting to read when I did some research that a common name for this species, mourning cloak, refers to its resemblance to a traditional cloak worn when one was mourning the death of a loved one...
I dedicate this page to anyone who has lost a loved one...It was comforting
to me to see the butterflies come so early and before Easter weekend...I felt it
was a sign from my mother who passed away in October that she is happy and
at peace with the Lord..We had never seen butterflies on the plum tree before
Thank you Donald Garrett for the courtesy of the spotlight....
Thank you JanElle (Heather) for nominating this photo...
