I opened my back door and saw the squirrels tail hanging out of the birdhouse compartment that is directly below its paws. I grabbed my camera but the squirrel heard me, one foot popped out of the hole, then another and it pushed itself out of the birdhouse in full reverse. It then jumped on top of the birdhouse and turned around to see where the noise came from. Darn, a photo op lost, but see how ruffled his fur is from backing out? It had something in its mouth when it came out, I am pretty sure it was a bird egg that it was eating.

Nasty little thieves! They'll do anything to circumvent the system. Great shot, Ann

A great shot and entry...I hope also it wasn't a bird egg...Its cheeks look puffy like it had been eating something. We put out a suet block yesterday and something wrecked the wired container it was in besides took off with the whole suet block last night...Think it was probably a raccoon however as squirrels don't usually come around after dark..

A great shot of the little tree rat. They raid our birdfeeders, and suet cages. I have heard squirrel tastes pretty good with mashed potatoes. LOL!
