This pair of baby bluebirds (see the end of a beak on the left) is waiting for their mother to bring them bugs. She has been working very hard to keep them fed, as they are constantly hungry. Their father essentially committed suicide on Easter, when he attacked his own image in a window; breaking his neck. The mother has been doing double duty since then, and the babies are thriving so far. She is a brave little mother bird.

I asked about the father bird to soon! Such a tragedy for the mama bird and go good that another male stepped in to help her out. It is so heartwarming to read that : )
