No Backsies
Those who know me know that, despite my generally liberal tendencies, I am not a huge fan of organized labor. But the Broadway producers, as I understand it, are trying to reneg on previously agreed to terms. As a result these people have been working without a contract for the last year. Which I suppose is the producer's right to do, but pretty uncool in my book.
So last night, on my way home, I decided to meet these folks and see what their complaints were and try to get a better understanding of the situation. I gotta say, for a bunch of strikers, they were pretty tight lipped about the issues. But they were more than happy to pose for a picture and accept my wishes of good luck.
It should also be noted that I was wholly disappointed that, given that these are BROADWAY strikers, there was a noticeable lack of singing or chanting of any kind.
