Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings....
Psalm 17: 8

This friendly little bird..
Has happy songs to sing.
Her voice today I heard,
Neath' the shadow of her wings.
When the black-capped Chickadee
Flew up in the crab- apple tree,
I knew she was trying to show me
All the pretty things to see...
Poetry by me AJP

This tiny breed of bird loves to pose for my camera when I am outside, while the other species are a little more timid which is why the lions majority of my bird pictures are shot through the window . I was delighted that this little one chose to fly in the flowering crab-apple tree today..I think she knows where the pretty spots are to pose...

And what a beautiful pose it is.. they are such endearing birds and a delight to have around. Yesterday a dee dee was whistling its heart out near our house so I started whistling back at it.. it went on for awhile, lol, but they seem to enjoy my response... the colours here are just gorgeous, and the chickadee really shines in this image!

Thank you all for the comments and faves.. Heather, .I adore their whistle too and they so love it for us to whistle back to them ...They seem to thrive in the attention that we give them... I also feel when I am out there with them during those moments they are able to eat peacefully on the feeder without having to compete with the squirrels..I sense the gratitude in their demeanor when
I come out to join them as they take their time eating without being rushed
    off by the squirrels.
