Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to post pics representing what I call my Life Floats, all that I hold onto when the sea of life suddenly goes from calm to stormy. Like most of you, Fred and I have experienced that more than once. Yep, we’re going through a major life altering time right now. I continue to trust we’ll get through this.

Again I thank my JPG friends for their continuing thoughts and prayers.

Recently a dear JPG friend reminded me of the importance of breathing and relaxing, especially during challenging times.

I did both when I captured this scene at Dallas’s historic Lakeside Park and thought of my first major float: faith. For me trees and a beautiful body of water are like God hugs.

In the Life Floats photo essay.

Beautiful! What a wonderful tribute to our lovely friend. This is so true, Deb. God sends His love in some very beautiful ways; and sometimes through the words of a child or a friend.
