Are you familiar with Willy Pogany? When I was a little girl, my grandmother had a 'Drawing Lessons' book of Pogany's. She studied at the Art Institute in Chicago as did my mother and two of my brothers. Art was handed to me genetically but this is the book (published in 1946) I asked for whenever I was visiting my grandma. Nature? Nurture? Perhaps a combination of both. The book vanished after her death, but I did find a copy at a rare book store. Your sketches remind me so much of Pogany's work in this primer.
