Visiting St Louis Missouri for a jpg meet up we visited the legendary Bellefontaine Cemetery on sat the 21st of April.
I ended up returning to the quiet and serene burial ground later in the day and spent over 4 hours exploring and taking several hundred photographs.
I found fewer angels than most graveyards this size but more human forms such as this one, the second of such forms depicting a woman in repose.
One does not find many men in such a position, it is mostly women, interesting observation.
Bellefontaine was a sprawling quiet and serene cemetery with a plethora of trees to offer shade and wonderful shadows, the setting was as near perfect as one could hope for as far as photography opportunities,
This form was obviously quite old from the look of the weathered face, it's features worn away by decades of the heat of summer and the cold of winter perhaps enhanced by the moisture from the large body of moving water in the vicinity.
