...The windows of heaven were stopped and the rain was restrained..
Genesis 8: 2
I shot this picture of the biker at 12:30 PM through the windshield of our car today before a torrential rain storm that my husband and I got caught in later on the way home from shopping....I did see another hapless man who was riding his bike in the rain storm but it was almost as dark as night and I noticed he was using a cell phone most likely for someone to give him a ride to his destination.

We do not see men that are wearing suits on a bicycle around here. That struck me as odd when I saw this photo, which is an excellent capture and entry to the theme.

Thank you for your comments...I agree, Ann, I thought it most unusual this man
was wearing a suit too as I had never seen anyone ever riding a bike who was
as dressed up as he was...He looked like he rode out of a movie set...I did have another entry of two guys who were dressed in the usual biker attire but
I liked this one better because it is different... -

This is excellent, Andrea. I like your use of B&W. You should make an album of drive-by shots.

Nice to see him stopping. California cyclist too often feel they own the road, that, like many of today's youth, are 'entitled' to assume they laws of the road don't apply to them.

You tackled this theme very well! He looks so well dressed for riding his bike. On the way to a date possibly??

Thank you all for you comments....Joerg, I even wondered if he was on his way
to get married..LOL An Apostolic church is one of the brick buildings in the
the background .. I guess he will always remain the mystery man waiting at the stop sign...Sometimes we never learn who the people are in our candid shots. -

Very effecitve composition, frame, and edit. Do you see the subtle circular/oval theme here? The wheels, the Masonic sign, the light fixture over the door, the tops of the meters -- oops, I am thinking too much like a Fine Arts professor . . .

Richard Knight. Thank you for observing all the oval shaped patterns that you see on this image..which I really didn't pay attention to when I shot the picture until after observing the results...I intuitively knew the man on the bike was at the right place at the right time ...In reply to what you said Richard Bruins about the politeness of this fellow stopping that you don't always see in Calif., I think it depends on the individual..Earlier in the day a young fellow walked right out in front of us to cross the street where his truck was parked and he gave us no indication he was even going to cross the street as he had been talking to his buddies on the other side...Luckily we were not going fast...and he got across safely but he was taking a terrible chance...Thanks all for your comments.

What a great find for this theme, Andrea. I love it in b&w, and it has a mysterious look about it. A wonderful photograph my friend!!
