The northern harrier hawk ..
I lost my mother many years ago, she shared with and instilled in me a deep love for wild birds and all wildlife and flora.. along with so very much more. But somehow, I always feel closer to her when I am photographing the wild birds she loved so dearly.. this is my tribute to her for Mother`s Day..
This one`s for you Mom, I miss you XOXO !!

What a amazing and heart warming image, Heather... My grandmother on my mother's side who was a teacher before she married, loved birds ... I found some old notes one time that she kept in a diary where she had taken her class on a nature walk to identify the birds...I remember she could whistle like a bird...How wonderful your mother inspired your joy for wild birds....You have really inspired me with your beautiful photography on nature.

Beautiful photo and tribute. I lost my Mom in 1999 and there are still a lot of rough days for me . I took up photography to help my stress after Mom's passing. It has been a joy and a lifesaver for me.
