Thanks Donna Summer...for making the disco era so bearable.
This past weekend I happened to be at a relative's wedding, and happened to catch a shot of a chandelier--I love shiny things. When I heard of Donna's passing, I was looking at my shots and immediately connected the two in a very powerful flash of a retro moment. During the 70's the only way to get me onto a disco floor was to get me drunk first--and only then would I get up the courage to dance. (I can't tell you how many people I karate-chopped with my wicked leg action) Donna Summer's music was so much more than just disco, it was what kept me dancing, even when the alcohol wore off. I almost never admitted to my rocker friends that I listened to any disco, but I did when it came to her's. It's because of her that disco will never die.
