Q: I am really into my wildlife photography but cannot afford a super zoom lens, I have a 300mm and am considering a teleconvertor. Has anybody had a experience with these and would you recommend them?

A: Do you know?

Photographed at Alton, Illinois along the Mississippi River. The Illini Indians of the region call the monster "The Piasa," meaning bird that devours men. There are many legends among the Upper Mississippi Native American tribes regarding the Piasa and its origin.

That's quite a painting and legend...Don't think I 'd want to tangle with that bird judging by the size of the claws and the teeth:)
