I bought some peacock feathers at a yard sale a couple of months ago, intending to photograph them and give them to my cats afterward. Then I heard the story of this beloved peacock. He showed up in a tree and the owners of the home took three days to coax him down. He became their pet and lived a happy life. One day he wandered into the street and was hit by a neighborhood boy driving a bit too fast. It broke the owners' hearts, but they saved his feathers. They were sizing down their home and chose to sell some of them. These feathers will be treasured and kept safely away from my cats.
