This was shot at Rincon Point just south of Santa Barbara, CA. I saw that the weather was getting bad as I was driving down the 101, so I stopped at Rincon (world class surf spot) because bad weather usually means big waves. When I got to the beach, the water was full of surfers trying to catch a ride on the 15+ foot waves that were breaking. I didn't have a telephoto lens, so instead I took advantage of the beautiful scene. Amongst the chaos in the water, I found this moment of elegance.
