The first question you might ask upon entering the studio/gallery/home of artist Alden Cole, is does he live where he makes art or does he make art where he lives? Of course, after the first minute or so, all questions seem moot as you surrender to three floors of floor to ceiling paintings and objects, and to the dozens of colorful table and floor lamps Cole has crafted from found objects and lamp parts. Eye candy is everywhere. And Cole's infectious enthusiasm for his art will sweep you off your feet and into the proverbial rabbit hole of unlimited possibilities. You may eventually leave the unassuming South Philly row house (unassuming on the outside, that is, except for the lamps in every window that slowly change through a myriad of colors), but you will probably never completely leave the rabbit hole. And that's a good thing.
