Spirit was tragically shot by a hunter. The bullet pierced her beak. The beak will heal but the left eye is blind. She cannot fly straight with the blind eye so she cannot survive in the wild. She resides as an ambassador for the Juneau Raptor Center.

A big thank you to Lynn Harvey for the spotlight. I appreciate it a lot.

Beautiful image of this handsome bird ...tragic that it is blind in one eye from a hunters bullet but he still looks dignified and very alert with his remaining eye..The detail is really fantastic!

A fabulous portrait of this magnificent bird! It behooves me that anyone would shoot a bird like this, but I`m so glad she survived the ordeal.. she will be a remarkable ambassador for her species, I`m sure! .. an awesome image!
